Three Mistakes Women Make with Men

California resident Yola Dabrowski began working in the health and wellness field as a freelance chiropractor before becoming a consultant with Sama Consulting in San Jose. Yola Dabrowski has attended a range of conferences and seminars, including several with relationship guru Alison Armstrong. Below are three common mistakes women make when interacting with men, according to Armstrong.

1. Expecting him to give you his time.
As Armstrong notes, “Men have whole lives.” Whether they are married to you or not, men don’t feel they owe you all their time. What they do think they owe you is respect, love, and happiness. Demanding that they spend all their free time with you makes you appear disempowering and disrespectful of them.

2. Interrupting when he speaks.
Being interrupted leads men to stop talking altogether. Let men finish, instead of interrupting and then mistakenly thinking they are shallow due to a lack of response.

3. Assuming he can multitask.
You may be capable of knitting a sweater, watching television, and planning your day at the same time. Men do not have this same talent for multitasking. When they are doing something, they are doing that one thing. Rather than assume they are ignoring you, understand that it’s likely they are focused on the task at hand.
